the second floor is empty and quiet, except for the wails of moaning myrtle coming from her bathroom.

the third floor contains the trophy room, charms classroom, a secret passageway and the hospital wing. as you can imagine this corridor is busy after quidditch matches.

the fifth floor is almost as empty as the second one - with only the boys bathroom and prefects bathroom.

the seventh floor is the gryffindor's domain, holding their common room, the room of requirement and the divination classroom.

there are many towers in hogwarts, but the main ones are the ravenclaw tower, astronomy tower, headmaster's office and the owlery.

tapping just the right brick in the wall behind the leaky cauldron in london ("three up...two across...") will reveal an archway which is a portal into diagon alley, a long cobbled street where is to be found a strange and exciting assortment of shops and restaurants. it is unquestionably the hub of commerce in the british wizarding world, with virtually every wizarding business stationed there. consequently, the demand for space here is steep, and rent costs "loads of galleons."

just around the corner from diagon alley lies a dark, twisting alleyway devoted to the dark arts: knockturn alley. It's a place where many children are not allowed in, and with good reason; not only are the wares sold their a bit dodgy, but the wizards hanging around behave fairly suspiciously as well. from the shops and the street vendors one can purchase, among other things, shrunken heads, poisonous candles, human-looking fingernails, and flesh-eating slug repellent.

the headquarters of the ministry of magic is located in the heart of london. the actual structure is all underground, although magical windows show whatever weather magical maintenance has chosen for the day, from bright sunshine to hurricanes.
